The last few weeks have flown by and I can't believe that it is nearly half term! I'm feeling really settled at my school and am learning so much from all the team in Reception.......
We've had lots of training sessions on various aspects of teaching and each one has really helped me reflect on my own teaching and planning. I've really valued the time I've been given to observe other teachers and to see what we are learning being put into action in other year groups. Our subject knowledge sessions have been on reading and language comprehension, and I have loved seeing my class engage with the book of the month, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Of course Daddy Bear had to make an appearance (yes that is me in the costume!) and being able to interact with them and seeing their excited faces as they performed as a class, retelling the story with signing was just amazing! They did so well and I'm looking forward to seeing how my mentor develops this with story mapping next week.
