In my first week I have been getting to know the students in my class as well as building positive, trusting and successful relationships with them....
I have also taken over the role of reading for children before home time and taking the afternoon register. These tasks have been helpful for me to assist in my development towards being comfortable in front of the full class. I have completed my first observation, where my class mentor assessed my behaviour management and oracy skills.
Whilst I was reading a story, I have been given targets to work on for my next observation which will take place at the end of the week. I have also had the opportunity to observe two professionals on their behaviour management techniques, which was helpful to see and has provided me with lots of ideas on how to reward positive behaviour and how to correct/improve negative behaviour, which i can apply in my own teaching.
I am really enjoying my second of school as well as my Kingsbridge sessions, and i am looking forward to the rest of the year!
